"An appalling experience"

About: ACH Group Retirement Elkanah Village

(as a relative),

My parent, a resident at ACH Woodcroft, needed to go into a nursing home. A few months ago, we sought assistance. After four months of no help was forth coming and realizing that all it seemed they wanted to do was upsell more services, we found a fee-for-service organisation that, within two weeks, had found Mum a placement with an offer of permanency.

This is the tip of the iceberg. We felt ACH's communication was appalling. We felt ACH were patronising to families, the staff cannot seem to deal with uncomfortable encounters, and the contractual arrangements concerning leaving the facility I believe should be investigated unfair contracts!

We had a buyer for my parent's unit in as-is condition. ACH refused to negotiate, I recall they told the person they would have to take their chances and their parent (who I believe was 90+) was too old. I feel this was age discrimination at its worst! In my opinion, nothing in our experience in dealing with ACH was conducted appropriately!
