"My stay primarily"

About: Peel Health Campus / Emergency Department Peel Health Campus / Surgical ward

(as the patient),

I had been admitted for TKR a few months ago 2023.  The hospital itself can't be blamed for noise level throughout the night.   But my main issues were the nurses, their assistants and orderlies I saw.  Only one nurse stood out to be exceptional in her performance.  I felt it was apparent that she loved her job given the care and compassion she lent during her service.  I believe her name was Laura (if you're able to use names, but not necessarily certain of her name).  She also had a wonderful sense of humor.

The others were, I feel, either neutral to rude-ish or just plain rude.  One NA said it wasn't their job when I asked that the bathroom needed more toilet paper.  An orderly had me use a bed pan but I believe must've placed it the wrong way, as my urine washed all over my bed; they seemingly became flustered and a little annoyed.  I'm going to assume their apparent irritability wasn't aimed at me, though I feel still unprofessional none the less.

Another nurse got snappy with me when on the morning I was to be released.  I simply asked when I could expect it to happen and believe I was given a rude response as if I were being a bother.  I wouldn't stay at this hospital, nor will I ever again.

Also had a disturbing encounter with a triage nurse when in the Emergency Department on another occasion and I had asked to speak with a higher authority.  They kept arguing with me as to why.  This was, in my opinion, so absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour, I was gobsmacked.

When I lodged this particular complaint with each department I never received any kind of response. I feel these examples of service are nothing less than appalling.
