I gave birth to my little girl recently in the 'small' birth suite on the Swan Hill Maternity Ward. I want to say a big big thank you to the whole team we saw.
From the thorough antenatal appointments where they picked up and treated my iron deficiency (which my previous care team before moving missed), through the birthing experience and then onto the ward with post-natal care - it has been such a magical experience.
Alongside me you helped bring my little girl into this world in, I felt, the best way possible. I felt supported and safe throughout labour with care to my birthplan even during the unexpected hour after birth. My husband and I really appreciate the clear communication during what was an unknown time, and feel so grateful to the team for all that they did.
Those few hours could've been a scary time for us but I already look back on it with a real appreciation. From the moment i was assisted to have a shower the after care was also just amazing. I felt so supported to heal, listened to about all of my concerns 24/7, and was confident my little girl was in the best of hands.
To be able to stay and allow healing with my husband and baby was invaluable, and I honestly feel so strong moving forward into our next leg of our family journey. The compassion and genuine care we felt as a family to our physcial, mental and emotional health has honestly touched us.
I think the midwives, doctors and the cleaners and cooks not on the 'frontline' need a big big round of applause. The quality and variety of nutrious food I saw has been so appreciated, and to have my room cleaned each day by such wonderful people gave me comfort.
Living between Swan Hill and another regional city we know we made the right choice of a holistic hospital for us. Words can't describe the gratitude I feel. Thank you. On behalf of my growing family you have forever postively touched our lives.
"A special birth"
