"Positive experience in ED"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I presented at SCGH ED on a Sunday  with a displaced fracture of the ulna from a fall while I was out running.  I was in pain and was fast tracked through the system.  I cannot speak highly enough of the care and compassion with which I was treated.  Everyone I saw was kind and considerate and I was X-rayed, plaster cast on, analgesia delivered in no time.

As a board member from another health service I am more than aware of staffing shortages and stress in our hospitals.  I am grateful for our wonderful health system and those dedicated people who work in it.

A huge thank you to you all I saw in ED and particularly to Matt, Adam and Nouria (spelling may be wrong), the very experienced nurse practitioner who very skillfully put on the cast. I believe they were all a credit to your hospital.

Dear decemberzy88,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your compliment about the care you received in the Emergency Department (ED) at Sir Charles Gairdner hospital (SCGH) following your recent fall.

I am delighted to hear that you received such kind, professional and compassionate care from our staff in ED. It is always encouraging to hear that despite the many challenges faced by hospitals we are so incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful health system.

We are very privileged to have such highly skilled and dedicated staff working at SCGH and we are very grateful that you have taken the time and effort to acknowledge the ED staff and in particular Matt, Adam and Nuria.

It will be my pleasure to share your feedback with the staff involved who I know will be touched and honoured to hear they made such a difference to your experience.

I trust that you are recovering well at home, and we wish you all the best with your ongoing recovery.

Warm regards

Jodi Graham

Executive Director, SCGOPHCG
