"Extremely positive and supportive experience with taff"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I had been experiencing severe abdominal pain and unexplained bleeding for two weeks. My GP had done tests and scans and was unable to diagnose what was causing my pain, and after a telehealth appointment with a different doctor, I was advised to go to King Edward Emergency.

I was quickly attended to with compassion and understanding. I felt listened to and supported. The staff were very prompt to attend to my pain and concerns.

More tests were conducted and the staff were quickly able to identify that I had likely been enduring an early pregnancy miscarriage. I returned a few days later for an ultrasound and another blood test to confirm this was the case. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, kind and caring. They also followed up with an appointment the following week, making sure I was comfortable and healing from my experience.

I found the staff at King Edward Memorial to be the most amazing and passionate people I have ever met in the medical field, and the hospital should be proud to have such a compassionate and caring team of staff.

I have had negative experiences with hospitals, emergency wards and women's health in the past, however the staff at King Edward exceeded my expectations -my experience with King Edward Memorial was the most safe, heard and cared for I have ever felt in a medical setting. Absolutely outstanding is the only way to describe these nurses and doctors. Thank you for helping me through what was one of the scariest times of my life. You should all be very proud of yourselves and each other.

Dear sculptorej37

Thank you so very much for taking the time to share your story, especially during what must be a very difficult time. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

I am so pleased to hear that our Emergency Centre staff were able to provide you with such excellent care and support during this time. You have witnessed first-hand the genuine compassion our staff have and how they truly embody the WNHS core value of care, with the wellbeing of their patients being at the forefront of everything they do.

I have passed on your very kind messages to the Emergency Centre staff, who I'm sure are honoured to receive such high praise.

Kindest regards

Delaney
