On a weekend afternoon I put rubbish in my bin outside then turned to go back on to the driveway. I tripped and fell forward. I must have twisted my head trying to prevent hurting my face or head. However as I fell the right arm of my glasses bent out and as I hit the ground the inner metal edge cut my forehead open. Part of my forehead also scraped on the drive. As I was bleeding a fair amount I went over to my new (and lovely)neighbour. She kindly ran me straight up to the emergency section at the Albany Health Campus. I was also finding it hard coping with the death of my husband in June. Overall I felt a mess.
I felt the assessment, care, treatment and compassion I received were excellent. I was kept overnight as the doctor did not want me to be on my own at home until they were sure I would be OK. Since then I have improved a lot. The cuts are healing and my body is now relaxing and I am sleeping better. So a huge thankyou to all the staff at Albany Health Campus.
