"Surprised to get a bill"

About: Alpine@Home

(as the patient),

I wasn’t aware that the District Nurse service wasn’t covered by Medicare as I’m a pensioner. Was surprised to get a bill from the at home service.

The nurses when they called in, they just have a chat, I feel they don’t actually doing anything. What I want them to do depends on what support I need. I felt they probably could have taken more time to have a look at the problem I’m having with my feet. Whether they put some cream on or give some sort of support.

There wasn’t any support given. I called up and spoke to the person and paid. I have cancelled now. I won’t get the District Nurse to call in if I had to pay for service. But I’m not seeing any value.

Dear indiawg45,

I am sorry that the bill came as a surprise to you following your interaction with our District Nursing Service. We do endeavor to explain our fees and services to clients on admission to our program and am sorry that on this occasion, this was missed.

We are sorry that you are not seeing any value from the support the District Nurse has been providing you, however, please feel free to contact the service in the future if you believe there is some support we might be able to offer.

We would be happy to discuss this further with you to clarify any questions you have about our service.

Kind regards,

Emma Ghys
