"Catering"

About: Sale Hospital / Oncology

(as the patient),

I was admitted to a surgical bed. The staff were fantastic as were the medical staff.

My problem was with the meals, I felt they were inedible, I was an oncology patient which caused a few issues. My meals were served in cardboard with bamboo cutlery, I felt it was not very appetising when they were trying to stimulate my eating. The meals that were ordered did not resemble the meals that arrived outside my door. Often the food service staff just passed me by. I survived on jelly and ice cream.

The nursing staff and medical staff were excellent, we are fortunate to have such an excellent hospital in Sale.

Hi Gerty2113toby,

Thank you for your feedback regarding the meals you received. Let me offer our apologies that they did not meet your expectations. Our catering staff work hard to ensure that the meals we provide meet the needs of the patients, residents and clients under our care.

We do appreciate that patients undergoing oncology care can have significant changes in appetite and taste perception so this is an opportunity for us to improve and strengthen our service.

We would therefore be keen to discuss your concerns further. If you are interested in doing so I can be contacted on mark.dykgraaf@cghs.com.au or 5143 8319

Kind Regards,

Mark Dykgraaf

CEO
