(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter has chronic health anxiety and requires 2 wisdom teeth removal under general anaesthetic, the staff I saw at Geraldton Regional Hospital went above and beyond in hearing what I was requesting and allowing me to deal with my daughter to bring her anxiety down the whole way from admission to discharge, not once ever making any us feel like we were bothering them.

Jess the nurse in the day surgery unit just did her job with ease and grace never being stressed of making us feel we were being difficult. Unfortunately my daughter has health anxiety due to a bad experience in hospital so to have a nice experience was very appreciated.

Thank you for sharing your kind words on Care Opinion.

As a parent myself I appreciate how important it is to have your child relaxed whilst in a hospital setting particularly waiting for surgery. I'm glad this provided you with a level of reassurance to then also feel relaxed and able to provide valuable support to your daughter. We aim to do this with all our patients and their parents/carers, it is very pleasing to know that Jess and everyone else throughout your daughter’s journey made her comfort and emotional wellbeing their primary concern. We shall ensure that everyone concerned is appropriately acknowledged for their commitment to compassionate care for our community.

I do hope your daughter is recovering from her procedure and that she now has a positive memory to recall during any future healthcare situation.
