"Nothing but admiration for staff dedication and work efforts"

About: Community Support Services (Bass Coast Health) Wonthaggi Hospital Wonthaggi Hospital / Armitage House

(as the patient),

To tell you my story I need to let you know a little about why I have had numerous visits to the Wonthaggi Hospital and others in Victoria.

I'm 82 years young and started getting crook at age 60 after rolling my four wheel drive. From then I started getting gout in big toes- foot drop in both feet, chronic poly neurophy in both legs- bent calcified spine with four hiatus discs- 2-2/3 4 & 5, open heart to replace aortic valve, right hand hip replacement both shoulders, had rotor cuff damage- right is worst after being hit by charging cow. Have barrots osophegus hiatus hernia (throat), just been advised I have diabetes  - liver - prostate cancer.

Also had T.B (mack) pneumonia - bronchitus covid.

Wonthaggi Hospital cared for me for some weeks after my hip replacement at Armatage House. Had a lovely time as I met some dedicated nurses whom I let the new ones take out some staples and to take blood from me. They were rapt, apart from this operation I've had a lot of procedures at Wonthaggi namely gastroscopy, colonoscopies, biopsies fixing hiatus hernia.

After these things have calmed down I now go out with the BCH support group, what a great bunch of carers you have well led by Sharon - Katherine- Faye- Nadia- Helen and Cathy.

All departments have nothing but admiration from myself for their dedication and their work efforts. Special thanks to the doctors and anathesics? Sleep people.

Can't wait to come back. See you soon.

Dear pelicanne66,

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback about so many of our Bass Coast Health teams. Your story tells me that you are extremely well credentialed to assess how well we are doing - what a complex health journey you have had, and it sounds like you have some tricky times ahead. I am sure I speak on behalf of all the teams to tell you that it is our greatest privilege to care for our local community, and I know that our staff will be very proud when we share your feedback with them. I hope that we can continue to support you well into the future, and I wish you all the best.

Kindest Regards,

Jan.
