Was transfered to Geriatric Ward in RPH with back fractures, after 2 days ED and 3 days in AMU where care was amazing. I felt a notable decrease in care once there. Not given pain meds til 2hrs after asking therefore having to get double dose. I felt total disrespect for me when I spoke up nurse who I recall laughed in my face and mocked me.
In my opinion, handover for a high needs patient totally lacking which I believe negatively impacted all others in ward as they were violent, screaming and attacking staff and trying to eat their own faeces.
Seemingly hesitant nurses impacted my medical treatment when I had an anaphylactic reaction to a medication and I had to use my own epipen to inject myself. Even Dr and other nurse commented on this. I had 2nd reaction and nurse from other room came in a had to take over and push red emergency button as nurses seemingly fluffing around. When I asked for reassurance the if I rang bell they would come they responded with 'we will do our best'
