On a Sunday last month we visited Busselton ER while on holiday, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of hospital. Our daughter experienced a bleed at 16 weeks into her pregnancy, which naturally caused us a great deal of concern. From the moment we walked into the ER, all the staff we encountered were welcoming, kind, and considerate.
Both my daughter and I are medical practitioners, and we were truly astounded by the exceptional and comprehensive care she received. In contrast, our experience in Perth highlighted the challenges in accessing certain medical services. In my experience in Perth, it's often difficult to get a bedside ultrasound to check on an unborn child unless it's a dire emergency. Just a few weeks ago, we were denied an ultrasound at a women's hospital in Perth, even when we offered to pay for it, due to a similar issue of bleeding. This happened on a weekday around 6 pm.
Before coming to Busselton Hospital, we reached out to inquire if there was access to an ultrasound on a Sunday, and the receptionist confirmed that there was. This level of responsiveness and care made a significant difference for us, and we are deeply grateful for the outstanding service provided by Busselton Hospital.
Whilst we were waiting, a nurse came around offering juice and biscuits as the wait was long.
A bedside ultrasound confirmed that all was well and our daughter was so relieved, having had a terrible time falling pregnant with several losses.
A huge thank you Busselton ED-especially Rob the ER specialist and nurses we saw. We were so blessed to have them care for our daughter.
Beyond brilliant service and care.
