I travelled from regional NSW to the SEH recently for Vitreo / Retinal surgery. After 2 cancelled flights (who have no sympathy whatsoever for your reason getting to Sydney when flights are cancelled) i arrived late. I advised the hospital the night before that i would be late arriving due to 2 scheduled and then cancelled flights. i contacted the Hospital and spoke to Mr Tae (NUM) who rang the surgeons and advised me to get to Hospital when i could and they will work around my delay.
On arrival and going straight to theatre level 1 i was checked in quickly and efficiently. Tae then took me downstairs to the clinics where i was late but still welcomed by the most amazing team who worked through the risks and options for my surgery. After thoroughly discussing this without rushing me we decided upon the best long term outcome for my eye care.
I must especially acknowledge the following individuals for their professional and caring roles in assisting me in this stressful time.
Louise, Admission Manager. Tae NUM, Dr James, Dr Alexander, Dr Shalhevet, Dr Zac and the Glaucoma Dr name not known to me.
Also the incredible Nursing and ancillary staff you are all a credit to your professions and the Hospital.
Once again thanks and the 2023 SEH fellows i dealt with have a huge future as Doctors and Human Beings.
The care i received was gold standard
Thank you
