Having been fortunate enough to receive exceptional care at CDH throughout the pregnancy and birth of my first baby, I was nervous when expecting my second knowing I wouldn’t be able to birth in my home town. I worried that I may miss vital antenatal care and midwife involvement throughout my pregnancy, or be required to travel almost an hour and a half to my birthing hospital for all care. My fear of the potential for loss of timely, quality & safe care for myself and my baby was very quickly put at ease after being linked in with my GP & CDH MGP. The team tailored my care to comprehensively address my individual needs and that of my baby, whilst importantly delivering that care close to home.
Communication to my GP & birthing hospital was always prompt and the required care for any concerns that arose was always addressed and managed 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. Having the one midwife assigned to me for the duration meant I was able to feel really comfortable in reaching out to access support from the MGP model and develop a real connection with my care provider. No question or concern felt too silly to ask. I felt exceptionally safe and cared for as an individual, rather than a ‘number.’
Following the birth of my son and our return home, the same level of care and support continued seamlessly in our transition to home - the exact time all women postpartum need a little extra support & cheer squad in their corner.
Thank you CDH MGP for the care you have provided myself & my family, proving that rurality is no boundary for quality healthcare for pregnant women & their babies.
"Gratitude for high level of care provided by the MGP team"
