The day of writing this story, has been a long day. I began fasting from 6am in the morning as I was instructed to do so. I was waiting for finger surgery as the condition of my hand continues to deteriorate and, as time passes, so does the chances of a successful operation (it is broken and dislocated).
After arriving mid-morning, I continued to fast and wait in the waiting room to be seen. I was eventually told I would not be seen on the day of writing this at 4pm (after fasting 10 hours and staying in the waiting room for over 6 hours).
When I was told, as you can imagine I was extremely disappointed but tried my best to not show this as I actually feel sorry for the staff if anything else than tired and hungry. They were apologetic about the situation. They all seemed to be very busy so I feel they are clearly understaffed for surgeons.
Now I am told to return later and still, I understand there is a 50% chance that I am seen at this point.
The saddest part of this is that this reduces the chances I will be able to bend my middle right finger fully again on my dominant hand. Not only this but now the new appointment requires another day off work, and who knows if it will be another one after that.
Whilst I rarely leave such feedback, I felt it was necessary this time.
