"Extreme pains"

About: Perth Children's Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was rushed to PCH in an ambulance from another emergency room because I had extreme pains I felt I wasn’t taken seriously by multiple doctors and nurses and now two years later I’m having extreme symptoms and pooping blood and vomiting blood in extreme agony all the time when it started, now it's 2 years later and their finally taking me seriously because I’ve lost so much weight. I feel if they were focused on what was causing the pain 2 years ago I probably wouldn’t be experiencing all these other symptoms now

Dear lynxmc39

Thank you for sharing your story regarding your experience at Perth Children’s Hospital.

I am very sorry to hear that you felt dismissed by staff and that 2 years on, you are still experiencing symptoms. This must be a very frustrating and worrying situation for you and I am reassured that you have sought further treatment for your symptoms.

I would be very happy to look into your case to review further. We can then provide you with the specific details of your case and elaborate on any concerns you may have. If you are open to us further investigating your care, I encourage you to contact the Child and Family Liaison Service on 6456 0032 or CAHSFeedback@health.wa.gov.au.

Yours sincerely

Dr Donald Payne
