"Thanks for the day procedure unit, emergency and eventual end of life care for my father"

About: Busselton Health Campus / Day Surgery Busselton Health Campus / Emergency Department Busselton Health Campus / General Ward

(as a relative),

Recently, my elderly father had a fall and presented to ED Busselton and received excellent care and assessment by the medical team.  He was admitted onto Ward 1 Busselton, and was placed on EOLC.  Our family were impressed at the professionalism and care they gave him, and the care of as a family and the extra support to our mum with special needs as she tried to stay overnight with him.  Our father was sedated appropriately and was free of suffering and pain for his final hours.  The nursing staff were incredible, as were the SMP's.  We couldn't fault the end of life care support offered by the team. As a WACHS staff member, I felt I was treated with dignity and supported as a family member.

Additionally, a huge shout out to the Day Procedure Unit who supported dad over the years with blood transfusions.  Dad always used to talk about Drew, whom he held much respect for.  Drew was always able to handle any situation with dad.  Thanks to Gemma and team for everything you did for him. We had dad with us for an extra 10 years thanks to generous blood donors and your team.

Dear cariname79,

Thank you for taking the time to post your families experience at Busselton Hospital. I'm so glad to hear that you and your family were able to spend the time with your father and I'm very grateful that the experience was as good as it could have been. We are very lucky to have the multidisciplinary team that we do at Busselton Hospital, I look forward to sharing this feedback with the teams involved with his care over the last 10 years.

If you have any questions, queries or other feedback please don't hesitate to contact me 9753 6372.

Yours sincerely, Dan

Daniel Anderson
