"Support before surgery"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Peri-Operative Service

(as the patient),

After three years waiting for cataract surgery I wondered if it would ever happen.

Covid, pneumonia and then a coronary stent this year had delayed the operation several times.

Clinical nurse consultant Susannah was wonderfully patient & supportive in guiding me through the final months.

In the last few weeks I had the surgery. The cataracts were dense but everything seems to be going well post-op. My vision has improved and the eye is recovering well.

In my opinion, Susannah was a model of professionalism and care.

Thanks also to Daniel and the other doctors, and all the nurses,  including Jill, Jennifer, Samara, Sophia, Frances and Kylie.
