"The KEMH Breastfeeding Centre"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Breastfeeding Centre of WA

(as the patient),

In my experience, services provided at the KEMH Breastfeeding Centre are beyond amazing. The consultations I had with the lactation consultant there were extremely helpful on my breastfeeding journey, especially as my son suffered from reflux and laryngomalacia since birth.

Having the Breastfeeding Centre Services in the heart of the city made it easily accessible to me and I have been able to have several face to face consultations with the lactation consultant, who checked my breastfeeding technique as well as the baby's weight before and after feeding to check for efficiency of my technique.

As part of the service I was able to have a hospital grade pump from the Breastfeeding Centre for several weeks to enhance my milk supply in the early stages of breastfeeding. I gave birth at KEMH and needed to see a lactation consultant from week 1 after giving birth. The lactation consultant  was the one who spotted that my son had laryngomalacia. I highly recommend the Breastfeeding Centre of WA and really appreciate the availability of this service to the public.

Dear avocetfm63

Thank you for taking the time to provide this wonderful feedback about your experience at the Breast Feeding Centre. I am so pleased that you have been able to access the support and guidance that you and your son needed, especially when you have had to navigate the added challenges of reflux and laryngomalacia.

I am sure the team at the Breast Feeding Centre will be very happy to receive this very kind acknowledgement of the service they provide.

Wishing you and your son all the very best.

Kind regards

Delaney
