I was unfortunate enough to be unwell over the recent holiday period and was transferred from a regional WA hospital on a public holiday and ended up having emergency surgery in FSH the following day and spent 10 days in hospital after the surgery.
I felt the Majority of the staff I saw provided excellent care, I found that the nursing team was staffed by some very experienced and competent nurses who where helpful and pleasant even when working long shifts.
I was on ward 7A for most of the stay.
The physio (sorry can't remember your name T?) who set me up with a walking trolley on day one that enabled me to be as independent, as my condition allowed, and I was able to walk around the ward each day which aided my recovery.
I would like to especially mention the Medical team Lauren, Michelle and Jarrad, who cared for me while I was an inpatient, they were compassionate and open about my health issues and saw me regularly even though it was a "holiday" time of the year.
Thank you to Lauren, Michelle and Jarrad for your excellent care not only during the surgery but the after care.
It has been a long journey and I am finally recovering thank you to the Fiona Stanley team.
The one issue I had for the admission was not being able to access icy poles/hydralyte type during the admission, this option was not available and I was unable to bring in any of my own food as there was not an option for safe storage of patient food- I felt that in this day and age of differing dietary needs this is disappointing.
"Excellent care received by the Staff"
