"Nurse at Sydney / Sydney eye hospital"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I just want to say how grateful I am for the staff I saw in the emergency unit at Sydney / Sydney eye hospital. More specifically nurse Theresa. I recently moved from the UK to Sydney and have been suffering from mixture of jet lag, anxiety and home sick. Then I suffered anaphylaxis and it was due to this that I was admitted to the emergency unit at Sydney hospital and cared for by nurse Theresa.  I used my Epi pen but I was still very scared and overwhelmed when admitted to emergency unit.

However,  I was made to feel so comfortable and safe . Nurse Theresa helped provide me not only with such great medical support but also emotional support. As I am away from family and friends back in the UK she made me feel as though I was with family - this little bit of maternal support really made such a difference and something she did not have to do. I believe Nurse Theresa and the rest of the staff I saw in the emergency unit at Sydney/ Sydney Eye hospital really go above and beyond for their patients.  Thank you again so much.

Dear tucanarn57,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your experience here at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital. It is with great delight that I read your story. It must have been a daunting experience to come to our emergency department with your symptoms, however, I am so pleased to hear that the staff made you feel comfortable and safe.

It is stories like yours that lift our spirits and make us want to continue making a positive difference in our patient’s journeys.

I will share your kind words with the team, and particularly Theresa.

I hope you are making a good recovery after your stay with us.

Wishing you all the best.

Natalie
