"Release from hospital when the patient is not able to care for themselves"

About: Geraldton Hospital / Allied Health

(as a relative),

Why would my sibling be released from hospital to a seemingly unsafe environment following a stroke that has resulted in them not being able to speak? I am very concerned that if another emergency situation arises my sibling will be unable to contact emergency services.

Dear Very worried,

Thank you for reaching out to us on Care Opinion and advocating for your sibling.

I was also very concerned to read of your sibling’s situation and would very much like to ensure they are getting the full support we can provide for them. I would be very grateful if you would contact myself on 9956 2369, or Kerry May, Allied Health Coordinator on 9956 2360.

I do hope we hear from you soon and can ensure your sibling has the care they need.

Regards

Cameron Ross
