"Cortisone injection"

About: Hedland Health Campus / Outpatients

(as the patient),

I become very anxious when the need for needles arises.

I had a cortisone injection administered.

The lady present was helpful and kind.

Craig, the main staff member marking me up for the injection was incredibly, kind, caring and reassuring.

I felt the doctor was abrupt and gave me only a couple of seconds warning before inserting the first needle. I had my upper body elevated and was not relaxed or in a comfortable position as they inserted the needle almost as quick as they announced that they were inserting it. I did not have time to lay back down properly of even take a breath to relax.

I was anxious about having the injection and feel like next time will be even more challenging because of this doctor's apparent lack of bed side manner and consideration. I felt they never even gave me time to respond and after the first injection when I expressed this they didn’t even acknowledge me.

If it was not for Craig I don’t think I could have continued through the rest of the procedures which involved additional needles.
