Was referred to go straight to the hospital following a regular eye check up due to an incidental finding of my optic nerve being swollen and serious.
Following going into the hospital after being referred for an emergency examination, was greeted with lovely staff at the counter who were very clear with instructions. I felt the nurse I encountered who completed all the precursor tests before I saw a doctor was very calm and collected.
I didn’t have to wait very long until I then met with a junior doctor who completed scans of my optic nerve and explained to me the possibilities of what it could be. Following all of the tests, I was given a referral for an MRI which I will be completing soon along with a follow up neuro-optical appointment. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend the Sydney Eye Hospital to anyone with similar issues as me.
