I was lucky enough to be part of the MAPS Program at Osborne Park Hospital for my first pregnancy (EDD last month).
The continuity of care, and flexibility of the service meant that both myself and my husband felt well supported and informed for every step of pregnancy, my birth and postpartum care (for both myself and bub)! Although our amazing midwife (Jo) wasn’t there for the birth, we felt so well cared for throughout the program and during the birth process. Unfortunately my birth plan had to deviate (was planning a water birth), but every step was taken by my care team to inform me of my choices during labour and birth, all of which I felt well prepared for due to all the education provided during the MAPS visits and KEMH/OPH education sessions.
I am very hopeful that the MAPS program is still available when we are ready to have baby number two!
