I gave birth recently to my second baby here at Karratha Hospital. After a traumatic birth with my first baby I was very apprehensive about my second birth. I was delighted to hear I was part of the MGP Karratha. My experience with the MGP was absolutely amazing, especially Sheree. She made me feel so calm throughout my whole birth experience, it was absolutely amazing. I am still in shock at how smooth the birth went and how different I felt this time. The birthing suite was so comfortable, Sheree was so comforting and the whole midwives team on the ward for my stay were fantastic.

Thank you for sharing your story regarding the different experiences with the birth of your babies at the Karratha Health Campus Maternity Unit.

Congratulations on the birth of your second baby, and I hope you and the new member of your family are happy and well. I’m pleased you had the opportunity to participate in the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) which aims to establish and provide a continuity of care relationship between the midwives and the mum. Your story is a great example of the difference these relationships make to ensure a positive, and in your words, calm birthing experience.

Again, thank you for sharing your experiences. I will ensure to let Sheree and the midwifery team know of your positive experience with them.
