"Care in the Emergency Department"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I had been seeing flashes of light in my eye and was told by an ophthalmologist to go to Sydney Eye hospital as they were concerned I had a detached or torn retina. I was worried and stressed about having to go to hospital.

Fortunately I was in great hands. The staff I saw were so caring and helpful! I feel I was also so fortunate to have Dr Nigel (JMO) as my treating Doctor. Dr Nigel, made the experience far less daunting with his kind and reassuring manner. He kept me informed throughout the process and I felt comfortable asking questions.

Based on my experience, if you need to go to Sydney Eye Hospital I believe you can be assured you will find a team of experienced professionals who are also kind and compassionate.

Dear pegasuskg97,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your recent presentation to our Emergency Department. I was pleased to hear that you found the care and treatment you received was of the high standard you described.

We are very fortunate to have dedicated people working at Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital who are committed to providing quality health care to the community at all times. I have forwarded your kind words to the Head of Department and to Dr Nigel, a job well done.

All the best for your ongoing care of your eye.

Kind regards

Dr Pauline Rumma
