"Kalgoorlie Hospital"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Emergency Department Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Kalgoorlie Outpatient Clinic Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Surgical Ward

(as the patient),

I am an traveller passing through Kalgoorlie on holidays from Queensland and after being referred by a local GP I presented at Kalgoorlie Hospital Emergency Department with a badly infected leg wound caused by a puncture from a Mulga Bush Branch.

I was admitted for 5 days into the surgical ward for treatment. I can honestly say my care by the doctors and nurses was outstanding both in emergency and on that surgical ward. On discharge I attended Outpatients for daily dressings for 12 days. The attention and treatment I received from Doctor W, Nurse Resmi the wound manager, Nurse Lana and Nurse Kath was so professional I was informed and felt safe in their hands, I believe they are all a credit to the hospital.

Dear Queensland traveller,

I hope you are well and truly on the mend now, yes the spiky plants in WA can be treacherous!

Thank you for taking the time feedback to us about the care you received from our team, I agree they are wonderful and often are unsung heroes that strive to provide patient centred care from the acute emergency and inpatient setting through to outpatient follow up care too. I will reach out to make sure our whole team is aware of this positive feedback as well as specifically reaching out to Dr W (I think you may be talking about our surgeon Dr Wright) as well as Lana, Kathryn and Resmi.

Please don’t’ hesitate to contact us if you need anything else you can reach out on gsegcg@health.wa.gov.au or (08) 9080 5817.

Kindest regards Alicia
