(as a parent/guardian),

My son was admitted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with severe head injuries following a motor bike accident. The care he received while in the Intensive Care Unit was wonderful. Special thanks to his nurse Bec who was awesome. She made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her. Even helping us find accommodation!

Thank you for your feedback about the care your son received in our intensive care unit. I hope that he is doing well and your family are healing as well. From the little information you have provided I would say that you would have gone through a major experience and looking after yourself is very important.

I will certainly pass on your comments to the ICU and trauma teams. It is "awesome" for us when we receive feedback such as yours. Staff working in our critical care areas are very special and do a difficult job. Your acknowledgment of your son's care will have a significant impact on them. I will ensure Bec is made aware of your comment.
