I had a wonderful birth experience with the midwife team at the FBC. After moving to Perth during my pregnancy I wanted to have a similar birth experience that I had previously in the U.K. with a midwife led team and a drug free water birth. I was recommended to apply to have my pregnancy through the FBC from my GP, as there aren’t many places where you can have this type of birth in W.A. The team at the family birth centre were amazing and so supportive that I was able to birth my large baby vaginally during a water birth. 

I cannot recommend the team at the FBC enough they were incredibly supportive throughout my pregnancy and birth and the in care support post birth worked so well after my son was born.

Congratulations on the birth of your son and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS), more specifically the Family Birth Centre (FBC) Midwifery Group Practice (MGP).

I am so pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience. The use of water therapy during labour is an effective way to assist with pain control and I’m happy to hear you were able to have another water birth with the support of the FBC midwives. I am extremely proud of our staff who strive to provide our patients and their families with the support to achieve positive outcomes during their pregnancy journey. I will be sure to pass on your positive feedback to the FBC team.
