"Birth Experience"

My experience with the Family Birth Centre was extremely positive, right from my first phone call with Georgia (my midwife). The continuous care model meant that Georgia got to know my partner and I really well and was able to personalise our interactions. It also meant that I felt completely at ease going into labour, knowing that I would be looked after by someone who knew me, my history and my preferences. I felt relief when I arrived at the birth centre in labour. The midwives were wonderfully welcoming and the centre felt calm and quiet. Throughout my labour Georgia and the team of midwives guided me and made me feel safe. I loved that I could labour in the comfort of the large bath, with fairy lights twinkling and music softly playing.

After the birth, I appreciated having our own space to enjoy our new baby, while the midwives and paediatrician respectively popped in as needed. When it came time to be discharged, I was completely comfortable because I knew I’d be seeing a familiar face for the midwife visit the following morning. Thank you so much to Georgia and the wonderful team at the Family Birth Centre for ensuring my experience was beautiful in every way.
