"Good experience FBC"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Family Birth Centre

(as a service user),

Giving birth to my two children at the KEMH birth center was a wonderful experience both times round. The continuity of care offered by the midwives, the short and sometime no wait times for appointments, the homely feel for labour all contribute to my praise of the facility and desire to see it available for years to come. I believe many women would benefit from birthing in a facility such as.

Dear chachafd55,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story about the care you received at the King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) Family Birth Centre (FBC) for the birth of both of your children.

The Family Birth Centre offers women midwifery-led care through the pregnancy and birthing journey. I am so glad to hear that you had such a positive experience for both your pregnancies, and that the home-like environment provided a comfortable setting for your care.

We are extremely proud of our staff and the way they demonstrate such care and compassion, and I’ll be sure to share your story with the team.

Kind regards

Barbara Lourey

Nurse Midwife CoDirector
