About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Family Birth Centre

I had an amazing experience with the Family Birth Centre and King Edward Hospital in WA. I can not express my gratitude enough to our midwife, Georgia throughout my pregnancy and during the birth of our baby girl. 

My pregnancy was low risk and remained low risk until our baby arrived through spontaneous labour at 41wks + 6 days. I managed to get the water birth that I wanted and did have a few trips to the main hospital to get some extra monitoring as I was classified as overdue after 40wks. At no point did I feel any pressure from the care team to make hasty decisions and I can’t speak highly enough of the quality of care throughout.

We are extremely proud of our staff who strive to provide our patients and their families with high quality care during their pregnancy and birth. I’m so happy to hear that, with careful monitoring from the FBC and hospital staff, you were able to have the water birth you wanted.
