About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Family Birth Centre

(as the patient),

I had my first experience of birth under the care of my amazing midwife Grace at the Family Birth Centre.

I had a long 22 hour labour and felt so safe and supported throughout. I am so grateful that Grace offered me every opportunity to birth my baby unassisted and continually advocated for me even when I had to transfer up to the hospital.

I feel so lucky to have experienced continuity of care throughout my pregnancy (with a midwife whom I trusted)  which I have no doubt played a significant factor in my positive birth experience.

Dear robinss69,

Congratulations you on the birth of your baby and thank you for taking the time to share about your experience with the Family Birth Centre (FBC) at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH).

The Family Birth Centre offers women midwifery-led care through the pregnancy and birthing journey, and it’s wonderful to hear that you were able to have continuity of care with your midwife Grace. Our staff strive to provide our patients and their families with the support to achieve positive outcomes during their pregnancy journey, and I am so happy to hear that you received the care and encouragement you needed from Grace through your pregnancy and birth journey. I will be sure to send your appreciative comments to Grace.

Thanks again for sharing such positive feedback. I wish you and your family all the best for the future.
